Ingredients
Scale
2 cups fresh cranberries
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
Rinse the fresh cranberries under cold water, discarding any soft or blemished ones.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine rinsed cranberries, sugar, and orange juice. Stir occasionally until the mixture bubbles and cranberries begin to pop, about 10 minutes.
Once cranberries are popping, stir in chopped nuts, cinnamon, and salt. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Remove from heat and let the relish cool completely at room temperature to develop flavors.
Transfer the cooled relish to an airtight container or bowl. Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.
