  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (one packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup softened butter (for filling)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 4 tbsp milk (or as needed for consistency)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until lukewarm and mix it with granulated sugar and instant yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for about five minutes until foamy.
  2. Add softened butter and eggs to the mixture, stirring well.
  3. Gradually mix in all-purpose flour until a soft dough forms; it should be slightly tacky but not sticky.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about five minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (approximately one hour).
  6. After rising, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle (about half an inch thick).
  7. Spread softened butter evenly over the surface of the dough.
  8. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly on top.
  9. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log shape.
  10. Slice into approximately twelve equal pieces and arrange them in a greased baking dish.
  11. Cover and let the rolls rise again for thirty minutes while preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  12. Bake for about twenty-five minutes or until golden brown on top.
  13. Whip up frosting by combining powdered sugar with enough milk to achieve desired consistency.
  14. Drizzle generously over warm rolls before serving.
