  • 1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 beaten egg (for egg wash)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pie crust on a floured surface until it’s about an inch larger than your pie dish.
  3. Place one rolled-out crust into your pie dish.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine chopped strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Mix gently until berries are coated.
  5. Pour the strawberry mixture into the prepared crust.
  6. Cover with another rolled-out pie crust and seal the edges securely.
  7. Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish and cut slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before drizzling with powdered sugar glaze.
