Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced (or red/yellow for variety)
  • 46 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a splash of oil, then add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.
  2. Push the veggies to one side of the skillet. Add the ground beef on the other side, breaking it up as it cooks for about 7 minutes until browned.
  3. Once the beef is cooked through, sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and pepper evenly over the mixture. Stir well to combine.
  4. Layer provolone cheese slices over the beef mixture. Cover the skillet for about 2 minutes to allow the cheese to melt.
  5. Generously stuff each hoagie roll with the cheesesteak mixture.
  6. Serve hot with your choice of chips or fries, and optional condiments like hot sauce or ketchup.
