Ingredients
Scale
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans (toasted if desired)
1 cup sweetened coconut flakes
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside.
In another bowl, beat softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
Add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined—do not overmix.
Gently fold in chopped pecans and coconut flakes until evenly distributed.
Scoop heaping spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for about 10–12 minutes or until edges are set but centers remain soft. Let cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
