Cheesy Oven-Baked Tacos are a fun, flavor-packed dish featuring crispy shells, melted cheese, and customizable fillings that make every bite a delight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 sturdy taco shells
  • 1 pound lean ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade blend: 2 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp paprika)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar and Monterey Jack mix)
  • Fresh vegetables (diced tomatoes, lettuce, onions)
  • Sour cream
  • Salsa (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if needed.
  3. Add taco seasoning and half a cup of water to the meat; stir well and simmer for an additional minute.
  4. Place the taco shells in the prepared baking dish. Spoon the seasoned meat mixture into each shell until generously filled.
  5. Top each taco with shredded cheese to ensure every shell is covered.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and serve topped with sour cream and fresh vegetables.
