Ingredients
Scale
1 lb ground venison
1 cup plain or seasoned breadcrumbs
2 tbsp BBQ sauce (plus extra for glazing)
1 large egg
1 small onion, finely diced
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the finely diced onion until translucent, about five minutes.
In a large bowl, combine ground venison, sautéed onions, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well using your hands until fully incorporated.
Form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs (about two inches in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked through and lightly browned on top (aim for an internal temperature of 160°F or 71°C).
Remove from the oven and brush generously with BBQ sauce. Return to bake for an additional five minutes to achieve a sticky glaze.
