  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 4 green onions, sliced (reserve some for garnish)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger to the skillet. Sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in soy sauce and sprinkle brown sugar over the beef mixture. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for another 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in most of the sliced green onions (saving some for garnish) into the beef mixture for about 2 minutes until softened.
  5. Spoon generous portions over bowls of rice or lettuce wraps. Garnish with remaining green onions and drizzle lightly with sesame oil.
  6. Serve immediately, drizzling with extra soy sauce or sesame oil as desired.
