Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into strips
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
  • 12 oz large pasta shells
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Chop the onion and mince the garlic. Set aside.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Add the pasta shells and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a little oil. Season the steak with salt and pepper, then sear on both sides until desired doneness (about 4 minutes per side for medium-rare). Remove from pan and let rest.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Add minced garlic and smoked paprika; cook for one minute until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream while stirring continuously until combined.
  5. Slice the rested steak into strips. Add back into the skillet along with cooked pasta shells. Stir gently until everything is well coated in sauce.
  6. Transfer onto plates, garnish with extra smoked paprika or fresh herbs if desired.
