  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F / 43°C)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil (extra virgin recommended)
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary (finely chopped)

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let sit for about five minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center, then pour in the activated yeast mixture along with olive oil and minced garlic. Stir until combined.
  3. Knead the Dough: Lightly flour your countertop and transfer the dough onto it. Knead for about ten minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let It Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size—about one hour.
  5. Shape Your Rolls: After rising, punch down the dough to release air. Divide it into equal pieces, roll each piece into a ball, and arrange them on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover rolls again and let them rise for another thirty minutes while the oven heats up. Bake for twenty minutes until golden brown.
  7. Serve: Transfer to plates and enjoy warm with butter or alongside your favorite dish.
