  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into four equal patties about one inch thick. Make a small indent in the center of each patty.
  3. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
  4. Remove patties from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add beef broth, ketchup, mustard, and drippings from the patties. Stir and simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return patties to the skillet with sauce and let simmer for another 2 minutes before serving.
