  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. 1. Activate Yeast: In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Mix Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, eggs, melted butter, and activated yeast mixture. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  3. 3. Knead: Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in an oiled bowl and cover with a towel.
  4. 4. First Rise: Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. 5. Prepare Filling: Roll out dough into a rectangle (about 1 inch thick). Spread melted butter over the surface and sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar (sugar mixed with cinnamon).
  6. 6. Roll & Cut: Tightly roll up the rectangle from one end to another, slice into thick pieces (approximately 2 inches), and arrange in a greased baking dish.
  7. 7. Second Rise: Cover rolls with a towel and allow to rise for another 30 minutes as you preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. 8. Bake: Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. 9. Prepare Glaze: While cooling slightly, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
