  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the eggnog gently until combined.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool before frosting.
  8. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  9. Gradually add powdered sugar while continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.
