Delight in these crispy fried mushrooms, perfectly seasoned and golden-brown, making them an irresistible snack or appetizer for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms (button or cremini)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Station: Set up three shallow dishes—one with flour mixed with salt and pepper, another with whisked eggs, and the last with panko breadcrumbs combined with garlic powder and paprika.
  2. Clean the Mushrooms: Gently wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove dirt, avoiding rinsing under water.
  3. Bread the Mushrooms: Dip each mushroom cap into the flour mixture, shaking off excess. Next, dip it into the egg wash, then coat it in breadcrumbs before placing it on a baking sheet.
  4. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet over medium heat, pour enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom by half an inch. Heat until shimmering.
  5. Fry the Mushrooms: Carefully add breaded mushrooms in batches without overcrowding. Fry until golden brown on all sides, about three minutes per batch.
  6. Drain and Serve: Transfer cooked mushrooms to paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy as is!
