  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange Your Crackers: Place Saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Make the Toffee: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter and brown sugar together. Stir frequently until bubbling, then allow to boil for 3 minutes.
  4. Pour Over Crackers: Immediately pour the toffee mixture evenly over the arranged crackers, ensuring every cracker is coated.
  5. Bake It Up: Bake in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes, watching closely until bubbly.
  6. Add Chocolate & Cinnamon: Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let them sit for about 2 minutes to soften before spreading evenly. Sprinkle ground cinnamon over the top.
  7. Dust with Powdered Sugar: Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar. Cut into pieces or break into shards for serving.
