Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Let sit for about five minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter and salt to the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually stir in flour until fully combined.
  4. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for about eight minutes until smooth.
  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about one hour).
  6. In a bowl, mix together chopped cherries, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  7. Once dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle (about half an inch thick).
  8. Evenly spread the cherry filling over the dough.
  9. Roll up tightly from one edge to form a log shape.
  10. Slice into twelve even pieces using dental floss or a sharp knife.
  11. Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise again for about thirty minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  12. Bake for twenty-five minutes until golden brown.
  13. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  14. Drizzle glaze over cooled rolls before serving.
