Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 cups pretzel dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
  • Coarse sea salt (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and season with salt and pepper. Let cool slightly.
  3. Roll out the pretzel dough into circles about four inches wide. Place a spoonful of beef, a piece of cheese, and a squirt of mustard in the center of each circle.
  4. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch to seal completely.
  5. Whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash; brush each pretzel bomb with it and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
