  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for filling)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for filling)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (for filling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually mix in cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
  4. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes; edges should be set but centers remain soft.
