Ingredients
Scale
1 cup long-grain rice (jasmine or basmati)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
2 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about one minute until fragrant but not browned.
Add the rinsed rice to the saucepan and toast it for about two minutes while stirring frequently.
Pour in the chicken broth (or vegetable broth) and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
Let it simmer for 18-20 minutes until all liquid is absorbed; do not lift the lid during cooking.
Remove from heat and let sit covered for five minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
