Ingredients
Scale
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Extra sea salt for topping
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and sea salt until well combined.
In another bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined; avoid overmixing.
Fold in the chocolate chips and half of the caramel sauce.
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop mounds of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
Bake for about 10 minutes or until edges are set but centers remain soft.
Drizzle remaining caramel sauce on top while cookies are still warm and finish with an extra sprinkle of sea salt.
