  2. Soak in Milk (Optional): If desired, soak the liver in milk for about 1 hour to mellow its flavor. Drain afterward.
  3. Sauté the Onions: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter or olive oil. Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown and tender, about 10 minutes.
