Creamy Mushroom Asiago Chicken is a comforting dish featuring tender chicken enveloped in a rich mushroom sauce with sharp Asiago cheese, perfect for cozy dinners or impressing guests.

  • 34 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 8 oz fresh cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Asiago cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat the chicken breasts dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear each side until golden brown, about 5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté until mushrooms are tender, approximately 4 minutes.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and stir well. Allow it to simmer gently until it thickens slightly. Add in the grated Asiago cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  5. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the mushroom sauce over them to coat thoroughly.
  6. Transfer everything into your preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C).
  7. Plate the chicken and drizzle with any remaining sauce. Pair with pasta or a crisp salad for a complete meal.
